2007 Trip team members

Jessica

Hi! I’m Jessica Moseley. I’m a junior majoring in Public Health at the University of Washington. I’m most excited for this trip because it will give me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and learn from the people of Uganda. My prayer would be that God would open my eyes to the injustice of this world and give me a passion to care for His children wholeheartedly.

Shawna

Hello! I’m Shawna Okamoto, a international business and finance student at the UW. I’m most excited to learn more about who God is and His undying love for the children of Uganda. My prayer request is for our team to be open to letting God use us to love His people recklessly.

Jamie

Hi, my name is Jamie Miyazaki and I’m thrilled to be on this team to pursue God’s Kingdom in Uganda! I am excited to be challenged by an amazing culture, to be a loving servant, and to make an impact for Jesus. Please ask God to be with us and with the people we meet – every step of the way!

Dale

Hello, I’m Dale Terasaki, a junior engineering student. I look forward to genuinely discovering what’s on God’s heart through experiencing a new culture and caring for the people we meet. My prayer request is that the team remains healthy (Malaria—yikes!) and we learn to bless each other, especially when difficulties arise.

Rachel

Hi, I’m Rachel Ogimachi. I’m finishing up my second year at UW and am planning to major in English. God has been challenging me to step out of my comfort zone and pursue his heart for the world. I’m looking forward to learning more about God’s heart for the people of Uganda and how I can be part of it.

Kate

Hey, my name is Kate Harris. I’m studying Political Science and am a sophomore at UW. I’m unbelievably excited to be returning to Uganda for a second time, and have been so amazed at what God has already been doing through the awesome team of people going on this trip. My prayer request would be that as a team, that we would continually seek His guidance throughout this whole process.

Melissa

Cheers! I’m Melissa and I’m a senior in English and Comparative History of Ideas. I’m incredibly excited that I get to serve with a terrific team, learning the endless extent of God’s love for His people – both for us, and for our brothers and sisters in Uganda. Please pray that God will reveal Himself, continuously drawing us close to Him in preparation for this journey, and for our health and safety.

Victor

I’m Victor Chow. These past several of years in college have been a tremendous time of growth in learning who God has created me to be and how to reconcile my passions with His calling. Traveling to Uganda has presented itself as the first clear sign that my interests in public health might just be in line with God’s ultimate purpose in my life, and I only pray that God uses this experience to stretch and change my perspective on people, cultures, institutions, Christian love, and His kingdom.

Danielle

My name is Danielle Ritchey. I’m super excited for my summer vision trip to Uganda. Recently I have been working with some refugees from Eritrea. Through that experience I feel like my lens of awareness has been broadened so much, and I have grown so much as an individual. All I have to say is that God’s been so faithful to me in my life, and I can only give him the praise for what he is and is going to do through me and for the amazing people He has brought into my life.

Brandon

Hi! I’m Brandon Paddock, and I’m most excited to live and breathe the day-to-day reality of the village, and to learn from its people. I’d ask
that your thoughts and prayers support our efforts to work with them to improve the lives and opportunities available to the children of Mafubira.

Sam

Hi, I’m Sam Kang. I’m deeply moved how God continually calls me to join his work despite my brokenness & depravity. I’m excited to have my world turned upside down encountering the ways in which God’s been working through people in Uganda. My prayer request is that our team will stay as faithful servants and learners, and that He’ll continue to grow our hearts for love, compassion, and justice.
