While there, they connected with an orphanage outside of the Ugandan town of Jinja and felt compelled to do something more. Since their return, Tusubira, meaning ‘we have hope’ in Luganda, was founded and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit benefiting the village of Mufubira and the orphanage there. This summer, Kate and Sam Kang, along with two other Quest regulars, are taking a team to serve at the orphanage for a month and assess how they can better meet the needs in the region.
